The Large, installed

I built the luxury eyewear displays for Maybach Eyewear in 3D, from designs by the team at Pac Team Europa: boutique furniture in black, aluminium and glass, with light running along the shelves.

Four units for any boutique

Maybach Eyewear wanted a furniture system for its boutiques. But the shops hadn’t been chosen yet, and they could be anywhere in the world. What it needed was a family of units that would fit anywhere, against a wall or in the middle of the room.

So every piece is 240 cm tall and 41 cm deep. Only the width changes, from 105 to 150 cm, and with it the number of frames on show, from 25 to 45. Then there’s the Tower, 80 cm wide, which you can browse from both sides. Placed side by side, two or three pieces keep one continuous line along the top.

Shelves that carry the light to the edge

The shelves have a trick to them. They’re glass with a satin-finished edge, and you can’t see the LEDs, because they sit in the back panel. The light enters the glass from behind and glows along the front edge, so every shelf becomes a line of light beneath the frames.

Other lines of light trace the rest of the unit: a thin frame around the logo at the top, and a strip on each aluminium upright.

Maybach black, silver and orange

Maybach is the name Mercedes gives its most exclusive cars. As the brief asked, the furniture follows the brand’s image closely: black, silver, the logo with its raised triangle and a thin line of Maybach orange, in backlit acrylic, along the band at the base.

A pattern of interlaced Ms runs along the sides, in a matt finish. And to keep the front clean, the drawers are push-to-open, with no handles.

The Large, manufactured and installed

The design proposals come from the team at Pac Team Europa, who build display cases, retail displays and stands. I built the 3D model of the whole family and produced the renders for the first proposal presented to Maybach. Then I kept the model in step with the project as it was refined. I placed each size in a black boutique, and redid the renders in October 2026.

The Large has been manufactured and installed: the photo of the real piece is by Pac Team Europa.

(Got a furniture line to present?)

I build every piece in 3D, so changes are decided on screen, before anything goes into production.
